NORTH COVENTRY -- Angel Food Ministries is a food program where families or individuals can purchase quality, name brand food at a much lower cost.

Since March of 2007, Calvary Christian Center located at 426 Laurelwood Road
beside the Coventry Mall has been giving hope to over 350 families in the surrounding
area. “We saw first hand the struggles many were going through when it came to
providing food to feed their families and we wanted to do something that would help
them and give them hope that someone truly cares about them.” says, Cindy
McKinley, Angel Food coordinator for the Center.

It’s all very simple says McKinley, “Families can order as much food as they want.
There is no limits and the only form you fill out is our order form. Our motto is: If You
Eat, You Qualify! It’s simply another way to buy the same high quality food you could
purchase at your local grocery store but at an affordable price .”

Angel Food has a wonderful selection to choose from: A Regular Box for only $30
consisting of both fresh and frozen items along with eggs, milk and a dessert is
enough food to supplement a family of four for about a week and a senior citizen for a
month. This box has a retail value of approximately $50 to $60.

A Senior/Convenience Box for $28. This box contains ten perfectly seasoned,
nutritionally balanced, fully cooked meals—just heat and serve. Each meal has been
developed with the dietary needs of senior citizens in mind, and contains 3 oz. of
protein, a starch & two vegetables or fruit and a dessert.”

Monthly Specials of meat, fruit and veggie are also available for an additional cost.

“We accept cash, debit cards, money order, or food stamps” , says McKinley, “and the
food must be paid for when placing your order.”

* All methods of payment will be accepted at the church office on the designated dates and times.

* Food must be paid for when placing their order

* No proof of income needed

* No extra forms to fill out - Only their order form

* No limit as to how much food you can purchase

* Only requirement is they must purchase at least one of the two boxes (Regular or Senior) to be able to purchase a special - This is Angle Food's requirement.

* Menu changes each month.

* Volunteers are welcome to help on distribution night.
